📌 Proof of Address Requirement
Proof of residency is required when enrolling students or when the student’s residency has changed. New and returning families must provide a combination of the TWO (2) of the following Proof of Address documents (AR 5111.1):
- Property tax statement, rental lease, rental contract, or rent payment receipts
- Utility service contract, lease, or current payment receipts
(gas, electric, water, etc.)
- Current pay stubs
- Voter registration
- Current correspondence from a government agency

What Is a Declaration of Residency?
A Declaration of Residency is required for families who live at a residence other than their own, such as:
To complete a Declaration of Residency, the following is required at the time of the enrollment appointment:

The owner or leaseholder of the residence must be present

The owner/leaseholder must provide TWO (2) proofs of residency, such as:

Current rental agreement, mortgage statement, or property tax statement AND
-
A recent utility bill, pay stub, voter registration, or correspondence from a government agency

The parent/guardian and the owner/leaseholder must both present photo identification
(e.g., government-issued ID)
Declarations of Residency are reviewed to verify residency in accordance with Education Code 48204.1 and NUSD Administrative Regulation 5111.1.
