Enrollment for the 2026–2027 school year will open on Wednesday, February 4, 2026 for the following student groups:

New students (first time enrolling in Newark Unified)- First step - complete online application. Second step Book an appointment with the Enrollment Center to complete the enrollment process.

Returning students (students who previously attended Newark Unified and are re-enrolling)- Appointment required at the Enrollment Center

Continuing students (currently enrolled)- complete online application only. No need for appointment.
Please note: Enrollment for the 2025- 2026 school year remains open. Please be mindful to select the correct school year, as choosing the wrong year may delay processing.
Proof of Address Requirement
Proof of residency is required when enrolling new/ returning students or when the student’s residency has changed. New and returning families must provide a combination of the TWO (2) of the following Proof of Address documents (AR 5111.1):

Property tax statement, rental lease, rental contract, or rent payment receipts

Utility service contract, lease, or current payment receipts
(gas, electric, water, etc.) -
Current pay stubs

Voter registration
-
Current correspondence from a government agency

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday | 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM
Closed for lunch: 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM
Appointments are strongly recommended and will be given priority
