The Newark Unified School District Budget Taskforce Roles and Responsibilities are as follows:

• Directly Shape the Future of Education: As a member of the Budget Taskforce, you will have a direct hand in shaping the financial future of our school district. Your input and insights will contribute to decisions that impact students, teachers, and the entire community.
• Address a Critical Structural Deficit: Our school district is currently facing a significant financial challenge with a multi-million dollar deficit. Joining the taskforce means being part of the solution, working collaboratively with other passionate individuals to find creative and sustainable ways to address this deficit.
• Gain Valuable Financial Literacy: Being a part of the taskforce provides a unique opportunity to learn about revenue allocation, expenditure management, and budgeting processes within a school district.
