NUSD is committed to providing high-quality, standards-aligned mathematics instruction that supports student learning and achievement across all grade levels.
Current Mathematics Curriculum
Beginning in the 2018–2019 school year, NUSD adopted Big Ideas Math as its comprehensive Common Core-aligned K–12 mathematics program.
Big Ideas Math is a research-based program designed to provide a focused and coherent curriculum for students in elementary, middle, and high school. The program includes a variety of online resources and tools to support teachers, students, and families in strengthening math learning both in and out of the classroom.

2026–2027 Mathematics Curriculum Pilot
As part of NUSD’s curriculum review and adoption process, the district will pilot new mathematics instructional materials during the 2026–2027 school year.
- Elementary Schools (K–5): Amplify Desmos and Innovamat
- Secondary Schools (6–12): Savvas, Innovamat, and Kiddom
Additional information will be shared as the curriculum pilot process moves forward.
