NEWARK UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT Expanded learning programs MISSION
It is the mission of the Newark Unified School District Expanded Learning Programs to provide a safe, nurturing environment that supports the efforts of families and schools to help children become lifelong learners who possess the cognitive social emotional skills, ethics, and creativity to reach their full potential as contributing, productive, responsible citizens.
Newark Unified School District offers a variety of before and after school child care to support family's needs
Before School Child Care
Contingent upon enrollment numbers, before school care is a fee based program from 7:00 am to the start of the school day for students in grades TK-5. The fee is $195.00 per month per child. Alternative payment programs accepted.
Transitional Kindergarten Early Release Care Program
Child care is offered for transitional kindergarten students at the end of their instructional day.
Kindergarten First Month Transitional Period Early Release Program
Early release child care is offered for kindergarten students as their instructional day ends early at the beginning of the school year for approximately one month.
After School Expanded Learning Program
After school expanded learning program is offered at all elementary sites and our middle school campus from the end of the school day until 6:00 pm
Important Additional Information
All NUSD enrollment documents must be confirmed before your child will be enrolled in our before and after school programs.
Per the State’s ELOP (Expanded Learning Opportunities Program) priority enrollment is based on free/reduced lunch eligibility, foster youth, unhoused, and English Learners
If space is available, additional students will be enrolled and fees may be assessed contingent on funding.
